Wow, You are Awesome - Kraft+ September Challenge

Hi there!

I am loving the monthly challenges over at Kraft+ and I decided that I had to give the September challenge a go because I loved the sketch! If you haven't seen it yet, this is the awesome sketch designed by Em Stafrace:

And here is my take on the sketch:
"Wow, You are Awesome"

The patterned papers that I used are from the Pink Paislee Atlas collection. Even though this is predominantly a travel themed collection, I think it also works perfectly for boy themed projects too! I love this cute photo of Isaac when he was 8 months old! He was such a little cutie!

Here are a couple of closeups of my layout:

I like using a combination of different fonts for my titles, and for this layout I combined wood veneer, thickers, and a cut file. Some of the embellishments you can see here include a Freckled Fawn star paperclip, a Heidi Swapp arrow, a wood veneer camera from D-lish Scraps and two word strips. Over to the left of the photo is a flair from D-lish Scraps.

I loved the triangles on the sketch! I cut them out of four different patterned papers, outlined them with black pen, and then mounted them up with foam tape for added dimension. I finished my layout off with a few flicks of dark blue watercolour paint and some enamel dots.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my layout! There's still a few days left to play along with this challenge if you want to give it a go!

Stuck?! Sketches September 15th DT Reveal

Hello and welcome!

It's time for a new sketch challenge at Stuck?! Sketches! I really enjoyed creating with this fabulous sketch that Laura has designed for us:

Here is my layout that I created with this sketch using patterned papers from the AC Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy collection:

I switched the smaller photos in the sketch for one larger photo. This photo was from the photo shoot that we had done when Eleanor was just 2 weeks old! She looks so small and tiny! She has grown so much since this photo... I can't believe that she will be 1 in a month and a half!

Here are some closeups of my layout:

The flowers on my layout are all from D-lish Scraps. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut my title and then mounted it up with some foam tape for added dimension.

Above the photo here I've included another flower, as well as a flair and a doily, all from D-lish Scraps.

In the cluster over to the left I've included a couple more flowers and a sequin bow. I fussy cut the speech bubble and the 'Dream Big' banner from the patterned papers. I finished my layout off by adding a couple of resin butterflies.

If you haven't done so already, I hope that you'll pop on over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog and take a look at the lovely layouts created by my fellow design team members! We would love you to play along with us by creating a layout inspired by this sketch and linking it up on the Stuck?! Sketches blog by September 29th! The randomly chosen winners will win a prize from one of our very generous sponsors:

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my layout! Thank you for any lovely comments that you leave for me also - I always appreciate them and I love reading them!

Stuck?! Sketches September 1st DT Reveal

Hi there!

Here in Australia it is the first day of Spring and I am so excited to be saying good bye to the colder months and welcoming the warmer Spring weather! The start of a new month also means a new sketch challenge at Stuck?! Sketches!

Here is the fabulous sketch designed for us by Laura Whitaker:

This month we have a co challenge happening with Scrap Our Stash! Our design team have combined the sketch with the September challenge at Scrap Our Stash to create some fabulous layouts! This is the challenge for this month at Scrap Our Stash:

Here is my design team layout:

I mirror reversed the sketch as it seemed to work better with my photos this way.

These are the items that I've used for the Scrap Our Stash challenge:
L - Leaves, Lime Green
A - American Crafts Patterned Paper
Y - Yellow
E - Enamel Dots
R - 'Recorded' (title)
S - Splatters

Here are some closeups of my layout:

Up in the top left I've used a Crate Paper Maggie Holmes vellum word for my title. I've also added a flair and enamel dots, both from D-lish Scraps.

I don't have a scallop border punch, so to make these scallops I die cut some small circles and then cut them half. Here you can also see some flowers that I fussy cut from co-ordinating patterned paper and a Kaisercraft butterfly with a Pinkfresh Studio enamel brad in the centre.

Part of this cluster in the bottom left was already printed onto the patterned paper... I simply added a word strip mounted on foam tape, a Maggie Holmes vellum circle, and some enamel dots and brad. I finished the page off with some splatters of watercolour paint.

The randomly chosen winners will win a prize from one of our very generous sponsors :

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and taking a look at my layout! Thank you for any comments that you leave also - I do appreciate them and love reading them! If you'd like to take a look at my Scrap the Girls design team layout that I posted earlier today, click here.

Scrap the Girls September DT Reveal

Hi there!

I am super excited to be sharing my first design team layout for Scrap the Girls!!! I have loved joining in with the challenges at Scrap the Girls for a long time and so I am over the moon to now be part of the talented group of ladies on the design team!

This month we have a lovely sketch to get you inspired:

I really liked this sketch because it got me thinking outside the box! I also love how the design team have each interpreted the sketch quite differently and come up with such unique layouts - each fabulous in its own way!

Here is my take on the sketch:

The first thing I started with for this layout was the project life card that says 'A laugh is a smile that bursts'. I chose this photo of my little Eleanor at 6 1/2 months old because I thought it was just perfect for that quote!

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe to cut out the roses on my Silhouette and then I painted them with watercolour paints, matching the colours to the Project Life cards. I really love how this turned out!

Here are some closeups of my layout:

Here you can see the beautiful gold foil on the PL card - it is so pretty!! Next to the photo I've included two flowers from D-lish Scraps.

In this little cluster on the left hand side of my layout I've included a journal spot, flair and resin flower, all from D-lish Scraps.

A closeup of the top half of my layout.

And one final closeup of one of the roses at the bottom.

If you haven't done so already, I hope that you'll pop on over to the Scrap the Girls blog and take a look at the amazing layouts that my fellow design team members have created with this sketch! We would love you to join us by creating a layout inspired by this sketch and linking it up on the Scrap the Girls blog by 30th September to be in the running to win one of 4 awesome prizes from our sponsor Fiskars!

Thank you for taking the time to visit and for your lovely comments also! I will be back later today with my design team reveal for Stuck?! Sketches!
