Our First Home | Charms Creations Guest Designer

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing my final layout as guest designer for Charms Creations this month. My layout features a Charms Creations Bright Hessian Heart...

"Our First Home"

These patterned papers from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy collection were just perfect for scrapping a photo of our first home.

I wanted to make sure I didn't scrimp on the journalling on this layout as it was important for me to document all the details. So that I could keep the focus on the photo and journalling, I used minimal embellishments. The Charms Creations bright green hessian heart was a lovely finishing touch! I love the texture and the pop of colour that it adds!

Here's a closeup of the heart...

I finished it off with a flair button and a flower from D-lish Scraps. Charms embellishments are perfect for layering and clustering!

Thanks so much to Charm for inviting me to be a guest designer this month! I have loved creating with her gorgeous embellishments! If you haven't done so yet, I recommend popping over to the Charms Creations store to take a look at her lovely handmade embellishments! There are some fun new embellishments in store this week too!

Thank you for popping in to take a look at my layout, and for any lovely comments that you leave also!

Family | D-lish Scraps Design Team Layout

Hi everyone!

I'm back with my final D-lish Scraps share for the month. This layout features a sweet photo of my three children with two of their cousins...

"Family"

The three children in the middle are mine, and the two little cuties on the left and right are my nieces on my husband's side of the family. I wanted to share this layout today because my niece Phoebe (the sweet little bubba on the right) is turning one!!

Let's take a look at some closeups...

For my title I used one of the new Corbett Creations wood veneer words. I stocked up on these when they were added to the store... I love that they make it super easy to add a lovely title to your page without any effort (I've left mine raw, but you could certainly add colour to them if you fancied). On the bottom right hand corner of my photo I created a pretty flower cluster that includes a white wild rose, a pink gardenia, and a blue medium rose. You can also see a flair button and a sequin bow tucked in there as well. Underneath the flower cluster I've added a phrase from the Sugar & Spice Wordfetti sheet.

Above the photo I added a sub-title using the new Kaisercraft Alpha Stickers. Have you seen all the new Kaisercraft goodies that are now available from D-lish Scraps?

Under the top right hand corner of my photo I tucked a dip dye tag. These are sooo pretty! I also added a wooden fancy butterfly button to the right of the photo.

I created another smaller flower cluster on the bottom left hand corner of my layout using another pink gardenia and blue rose.

I just love how many pretty embellishments you can find in the D-lish Scraps store. Whatever your style, you'll always find the perfect embellishments for your layout! Have you been shopping over there lately? There have been some new arrivals in the store over the past month, so head on over there to check them out!

Thank you so much for popping in and taking a look at my D-lish layouts over the past few days! And thank you to those who leave lovely comments as well!

Jam Session | Charms Creations Guest Designer

Hi there!

I'm back again today to share my next layout as guest designer for Charms Creations! Have you popped on over to the store to check out all the fabulous homemade embellishments that Charm sells? On this layout I used one of the music note embellishments...

"Jam Session"

The music note star was the perfect embellishment to add to this layout about my son learning to play the guitar!

Here are some closeups of my layout...

I used Distress Inks to add some colour to the star to tie it in with the other orange embellishments. That's the great thing about these embellishments... They look fabulous as is, or you can add colour to them for a unique look as well!

How awesome is this cut file from The Cut Shoppe?! I used the one file to cut the title, the strip of orange stars, and the music notes!

I finished my page off with some glittery gold stars and a gold treble clef (from the Maggie Holmes Shine Thickers pack).

The patterned papers that I've used are also from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my layout. Thank you for any lovely comments that you leave also!

Matilda | D-lish Scraps Design Team Layout

Hi again!

I'm back today to share another of my D-lish Scraps layouts with you. This time I've played along with one of the current Cybercrop challenges in The Scrap Suite! Here's my layout...

"Matilda"

I created this layout for Michelle's challenge, which is to be inspired by a project created by one of the D-lish Designers...

I've taken my inspiration from this gorgeous layout created by Michelle...

Michelle created a layout about a concert that she took her daughter to, and this inspired me to scrap some photos from when my daughter and I went to see the Matilda musical recently. I was also inspired by the way that Michelle used one large photo as well as some smaller photos. Other elements that I've used from Michelle's layout include the glittery silver title, a sequin bow, and typed journalling cut into strips. So much to be inspired by... Thanks Michelle!!

To start my layout off, I created a starry background using Distress Ink with the ScrapFX Star Confetti stencil. To add to the effect I also used some of the newly stocked Kaisercraft epoxy stars. I then created some layers using patterned papers as well as punchinella, washi tape, and a black and white stripe bitty bag. Speaking of washi tape, have you seen the new ones that have been added to the store?!? I absolutely love the gold and silver glitter washi tapes!!! I used the silver glitter one on this layout.

Once I added my photos on top of the layers I was ready to embellish!

Here are a couple of closeups of my layout...

To the left of my photos I added a flair button and a black Mini Heirloom flower (these are so pretty!). Underneath my title I added two wordfetti strips (I'm addicted to these... you will find them on most of my layouts!).

Under the top right hand corner of my layers, I tucked a journal spot which I used to add the date to. To the right of the photos, I added a sequin bow and one of the mini photobooth props that I had left over from my Hey Good Lookin Just Add Paper kit.

Have you checked out all of the great Cybercrop challenges in The Scrap Suite this month? You've got until Friday 15th April to play along, so still lots of time! I hope you join us!

Thanks for visiting today! I will be back tomorrow with my final layout for D-lish Scraps for the month!

Fun in the Sun | D-lish Scraps Design Team Layout

Hi there!

Over the next few days I'll be sharing some layouts that I created for D-lish Scraps this month. I'm kicking it off with my take on the March Inspiration Board challenge! Here's my layout...

"Fun in the Sun"

And here's a reminder of what the Inspiration Board looks like...

Isn't it just so bright and fun and summery?!? I was inspired by the fresh colour palette and I also used the optional sketch as the basis for my layout, although I used one large photo instead of four smaller ones.

Most of the embellishments on my layout are from this month's Just Add Paper kit! I must admit that I am more than a little bit addicted to the Just Add Paper kits! Amanda does such a great job of putting together a gorgeous kit of yummy embellishments, and when you combine it with the Inspiration Board, it makes putting a layout together super easy!

To start my layout off, I chose some patterned papers that worked well with the colour palette (I chose ones from the Cocoa Vanilla Hello Sunshine collection). After I had my patterned papers in place, I added a strip of the washi tape from the kit down the left hand side of my layout. I then created some layers behind my photo using the punchinella and the yellow stripe bitty bag (which I cut in half and tucked under the top and bottom of the layers to make it look like a long strip). Then I was ready to embellish!

Let's take a look at some closeups so that you can see all of those lovely embellishments...

I love this little cluster of embellishments on the top right hand corner of my photo! I used a couple of pieces from the journal pack, an orange rose and a flair button, all from the kit. I also attached an arrow paperclip to the side of my photo.

I absolutely adore the Corbett Creations wood veneer pieces that come in the Just Add Paper kits! They never have a chance of making it into my stash because I always use them straight away! Have you seen the new range of wood veneer words that have been added to the store? I love them! They are a super easy way of adding a title to your layout, and they look fab too! Below my title I added a felt polka dot bow. You can also see here how I used the cloud picks on my layout!

In the bottom left hand corner I created another little cluster using the journal spot that came in the kit, another orange rose, and a couple of embellishments from Cocoa Vanilla.

I finished my layout off by adding a scattering of D-lish dots.

I do hope that you'll play along with our Inspiration Board challenge this month! You've got just over a week to get your entries linked up!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back tomorrow to share a layout that I created for one of the current Cybercrop challenges in the Scrap Suite. Until then, happy scrapping!

Sweet Treats | Stuck?! Sketches March 15th DT Layout

Hi there!

It's time for our mid month sketch reveal at Stuck?! Sketches! Laura has designed another lovely sketch... I love the photo strip and the clusters on this one! Let's take a look...

Here is my layout inspired by this sketch...

"Sweet Treats"

I love these cute pics of my sweet girl enjoying a milkshake! It makes me laugh because the milkshake looks nearly as big as her! We love to share a special treat like a milkshake when we are at the shops!

My layout features gorgeous patterned papers and embellishments from the Free Spirit collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Let's take a look at a few closeups...

The die cuts in this collection are just lovely and make it so easy to create pretty clusters. I used foam tape on the back of some to add some extra dimension.

I added a flower and a flair button from D-lish Scraps to this cluster as well.

To create my title I used a wood veneer word from Corbett Creations combined with Thickers. I painted the wood veneer with gold Heidi Swapp Colorshine... It was a really easy way to fancy it up, and I think it looks really pretty!

If you haven't done so already, I hope that you'll head on over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog to be inspired by the beautiful layouts that my fellow design team members have created! We would love YOU to play along with us too by creating a layout based on this sketch! Link up your layouts on the Stuck?! Sketches blog by March 29th to be in the running to win a prize from one of our very generous sponsors:

Best Friends | Charms Creations Guest Designer

Hi there!

I'm so pleased to be guest designing for Charms Creations this month, and I'm back today with another layout to share with you! This time I used a Charms bright yellow hessian heart!

"Best Friends"

I love this photo that I took of my eldest daughter with her best friend recently! These two have so much fun together! And they love their new emoji cushions!

My layout features patterned papers from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection. This is definitely one of my fave collections at the moment!! As well as the gorgeous Charms Creations heart, I've also used a mix of embellishments from D-lish Scraps, Freckled Fawn, Bella Blvd and Amy Tangerine.

Here are some closeups so that you can see all the details...

I love the colour and texture of the hessian heart! I added a flair button and a cherry blossom flower to the heart for some extra prettiness (both from D-lish Scraps).

I love combining different fonts to create my title! I used a combination of Amy Tangerine Thickers (from the Rise & Shine collection) with Maggie Holmes Thickers (from the Open Book collection). I used some small pieces of foam tape on the back of the gold word to give it some extra dimension. Love how these look together!

I created a pretty little cluster to the right of the photo using D-lish Scraps flowers, a Bella Blvd sticker and a Freckled Fawn glitter chipboard star.

Lastly I created another cluster up in the top right hand corner. Totally loving all of these pretty embellishments! I included some hidden journalling on the Bella Blvd 'Friends' tag. Also included in this cluster is a lovely pink sequin bow and a word strip, both from D-lish Scraps, and a lemon sticker from the Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers collection.

I love how all of the elements came together on this page, and that Charms Creations hessian heart was the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my layout! Thank you to those who leave a lovely comment as well.

She Loves Watermelon | Stuck?! Sketches March 1st Challenge

Hi there!

I love the start of a new month because it means that all of the new scrappy challenges are revealed... So much inspiration!! I'm back again today to share the latest sketch challenge over at Stuck?! Sketches! It's a fun multi-photo sketch, and what I love about this one is that it combines different size photos! Lets take a look...

And here is my design team layout based on this sketch...

"She Loves Watermelon"

I absolutely adore these photos of Eleanor! She had just finished eating some watermelon, and by coincidence she happened to have a picture of a watermelon slice on her bib, so they were the perfect photos for documenting her love of watermelon! When she eats it, we need to take her clothes off because she makes such a mess with it dripping down her arms! But she enjoys it so much, so I don't mind at all!

I started my layout off by chosing three different coloured Distress Inks that co-ordinated with my layout, and applied them through a stencil. I then added my strips of patterned paper using the Shimelle True Stories collection.

Here are some closeups of my layout...

How gorgeous are these flowers from D-lish Scraps?!

I love combining different fonts/font sizes to create my title!

I created another little cluster with more D-ish Scraps flowers and a flair button. You can also see here that I added a couple of word strips... Love how these add the perfect sentiments to my layout as well as another pop of colour!

If you haven't done so already, I hope that you'll head on over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog and take a look at the lovely layouts that my fellow design team members have created! We would love YOU to play along with us by creating a layout based on this sketch! Link up your layouts on the Stuck?! Darling Girl | Scrap the Girls Design Team Layout

Hi there!

Today marks the start of a new month as well as a new season! If you're in Australia like me, today is the first day of Autumn! I must say that I am looking forward to the cooler Autumn weather and I do love all of the pretty Autumn colours!

The start of a new month also means new scrappy challenges to inspire us! Today I'm going to share a couple with you, starting off with the new challenge over at Scrap the Girls! This month we have a fun sketch that was designed by Kristine Davidson! Let's take a look...

And here is my layout inspired by this sketch...

"Darling Girl"

I love that I get to spend my days hanging out with my beautiful baby girl! I am enjoying the change of pace that being a stay-at-home Mum brings. While my days are still busy and tiring, I feel really blessed to have lots of one-on-one time with my bub. I took this selfie of us on one of our days when we were just chilling at home, and I love it!

I started my page off by creating a watercolour look on my background using Distress Inks and plastic packaging (one of my favourite techniques at the moment!). I then added my paper layers using patterned papers from the Maggie Holmes Shine collection.

Here are some closeups of my embellishments...

I'm in love with the gold Thickers from this collection! Here you can also see some of the pretty D-lish Scraps embellies that I added (because what page of mine is complete without some?!), including the flair button, the arrow word tab and the resin diamond.

I fussy cut the blue heart and the 'shine' out of one of the cut apart sheets of patterned paper. This is a cost effective way of adding co-ordinated embellishments to your layout and making your patterned papers go further!

Under the right hand side of my photo I tucked a D-lish Scraps dip-dye tag, and then I finished it off with a Freckled Fawn glitter star on top!

If you haven't done so already, I hope that you'll pop on over to the Scrap the Girls blog and take a look at the fabulous layouts that my fellow design team members have created with this sketch! We would love you to join us this month by creating a layout of your own based on this sketch! Link up your layouts on the Scrap the Girls blog by March 31st to have a chance of winning a prize from our generous sponsor Charms Creations!

Thank you for taking the time to visit and for your lovely comments also! I will be back later today with my design team layout for Stuck?! Sketches!
